$8.00 per person
Ray Foster’s Nostalgia Big Band was formed in 1987 for the purpose of performing music in the style of the 1930’s and 1940’s “Dance Bands”. Although the band plays some music of the contemporary period (1980’s and 1990’s), it is all presented with a distinctive flair reminiscent of popular music of two generations ago. The group performs many original arrangements made famous by such greats as Glenn Miller, the Dorseys, Benny Goodman and Harry James.

Professional musicians of the highest caliber ranging in ages from 25 to 65 make up the roster of the Nostalgia Big Band. The ensemble features several outstanding instrumental soloists as well as entertaining vocal numbers by Ray and the band’s talented female singer.

The band is based in Xenia, Ohio, and performs throughout the entire western and southwestern portions of Ohio.

Ray Foster holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from Ohio State University. He was the band director at Cuyahoga Heights High School for 7 years and band director and music coordinator for Xenia City Schools for 21 years. Ray is now retired but maintains a very busy performance schedule.
